CENTERING PREGNANCY

Centering Pregnancy is a unique, group-based prenatal care program that empowers expectant mothers through shared experiences and education. It combines medical check-ups with support and discussion in a group setting, promoting strong connections and healthier pregnancies for both mothers and babies. 

Centering follows a nationally recognized model from Centering Healthcare Institute. Expecting mothers who choose A Woman’s Place for their prenatal care will be offered and opportunity to join a Centering Group based on their expected due date.

Most women with low-risk pregnancies are eligible for Centering Pregnancy. Your provider will review your medical history and help determine if the program is right for you.

Each session includes individual check-ups with your provider followed by a facilitated group discussion. Topics often include nutrition, labor preparation, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Sessions last about 90 minutes to two hours and are held regularly throughout your pregnancy.
