The Axonics® System is a form of sacral neuromodulation therapy that delivers gentle electrical stimulation to the nerves controlling the bladder and bowel. Axonics® Therapy is indicated for adults suffering from overactive bladder (frequent urge to urinate), urinary retention (difficulty emptying the bladder), and bowel incontinence (involuntary loss of stool). It aims to reduce urgency, frequency, and leakage episodes.
The small neurostimulator is implanted via a minimally invasive outpatient procedure. Most patients go home the same day, and the device begins delivering therapy once in place.
